Biology:
The Breen are a humanoid race, and stand about the same height as humans The Breen home world has been reported to be a barren Polar world. As a result of their frigid homeworld, the Breen require heavy survival suits to survive in hot climates. At room temperatures, they seem to get along fine wearing thinner uniforms, along with a beak like helmet that covers their face. Weather or not this equipment is also essential for a Breen's survival remains to be seen. The Breen are an extremely cunning race with an above average intelligence. They are no stronger than an average human, however, because of their environmental suites, they are slower. It is also know that the Breen can block mind scans and therefore telepaths can not read Breen minds. It has been reported that physiology is such that the Breen do not have blood, as we know it. Additionally it has been reported that pregnancy at a young age is not uncommon amongst the Breen.

Society:
The Breen are politically non-aligned, and have been known to attack other races vessels. The Breen utilize privateers, and these groups often carry out raids and other hostile acts on behalf of the Breen. The Breen may be best known for their low integrity and back stabbing nature, as there is a Romulan saying "Never turn your back to a Breen" The Breen leadership is structured so that no one can challenged for leadership without the approval of the top ranking military officers. These Officers often elect one themselves as the Race Leader and spokesman for the Breen. However, all military actions are controlled by committee. Breen citizens do not have any rights under Breen law. You work, or you die. The Breen are as best described as a communist society by our terms.

History:
The Breen have a history of sitting back and watching for the time to strike. Their history has proven them to be diligent warriors and intelligent tacticians. The Breen home world was once a lush tropical paradise but centuries of warfare and the invention of anti-matter weapons reduced Breen to a frozen wasteland some 500 years ago. Since then, the Breen have worked as one race. It took the Breen nearly 400 years to recover from near annihilation and extinction. Now, after centuries of hardship, the Breen are exploring the Stars.
