I bought SE V not too long ago and Hey look! it came with SE IV, which I was planning on ignoring, but the Adamant Mod seemed just so cool I had to give it a whirl.
Now the first thing I notice when I generate my first game that that my home planet is chock full of Metropoli, ok. Wow! These things are really powerful! Good. But... They all produce huge negative happiness.
Is it actually intentional that the first thing you need to do when you start a game is trash the majority of the facilities on your homeworld to avoid a riot spiral? Sure, I can build Entertainment networks, once I'm done razing all these hugely useful and expensive facilites, but why do I spawn with an unstable planet anyway?
It seem like it's designed to make emotionless races a real powergaming option, since it spares you from having to juggle facility balance and permits you to keep all those super facilities that your weepy opponents need to trash lest they death sprial.
Am I just missing something in my newbishness? "Space, It seems to go on forever... but then you get to the end and a purple monkey starts throwing barrels at you." - Fry, Futurama Back to top
Homeworlds cannot riot, so there is no need to scrap metropolis on them to build happiness centers. You will probably lose a lot of production if you do this enough to get them up to jubilant happiness.
I've been meaning to make Emotionless more expensive again... whenever I get around to putting out the next patch.
This will probably make a good sticky thread.. Smarter than your average Texrak. Back to top
Ahh. I didn't know your home planet couldn't riot. Well heck, that makes perfect sense then! Your people are expanding into face because they are tired of living with the neighbors elbows crammed into their eye sockets. Another couple of things it would be handy to know for the newbie to Adamant (As I've discovered the hard way. )
-Sattelites and Bases do not need supplies, even in combat.
-Anything with an 'expansion project' is built by building the expansion project and then upgrading that to the real structure. (I think this defeats the "Only one yard per world" check.)
-Orbital fighters have built in combat movement and supply.
-Seekers fire in the same left to right order as they appear in the Ship component list. So put the decoy onto your design first.
-Remote Mining Sats are fast to create and deploy and are powerful ways to gather resources.
More to come? ... "Space, It seems to go on forever... but then you get to the end and a purple monkey starts throwing barrels at you." - Fry, Futurama Back to top
Hello,
After a long time I installed SE4 again with this awesome looking mod (1st time - I donīt know anything about this mod).
I started a game and found myself having big issues with rioting planets. I didnīt have a chance to build any entertainment facilities, because the riots started before them being build. Now - how do I end these riots? I already created some infantry (I thought they might help) but that didnīt change anything. So whatīs the way to end riots? Thanks in advance for your help. Resource production facilities cause unhappiness; the amounts are listed in the abilities. Miners, space yards, etc. Generally, you can build 2 miners on a planet before you need to worry about poor worker conditions and provide for greater leisure time. You need to plan out your build queues to keep a positive balance of happiness. Add a few miners, add an ent. network, add some more miners.
Troops have no affect on happiness in Adamant. At this point, you will probably need to scrap several facilities on each rioting planet to get them back from rioting. Putting ships in orbit will cause some happiness gain as well. Smarter than your average Texrak. Back to top
Thanks for your answer. I did as you sad and got the situation under control. I really like the fact, that I have to plan the building of facilities now. In vanilla it was just to easy. I really like your mod. It seems to be for SE4 what caveman2cosmos is for CIV4. A huge improvement of gameplay. Back to top
