Weaponry for troops and fighters . . .

Ok i've gotten a few techs about 40 or 50 turns worth of tech going (just got the tech for new troops) I understand that units are suppose to have the same components as big ships but i have no weapons to put on my orbital fighters and troops aside from pistol and warheads and nothing but armor and life support for my weapon plateforms. What am i suppose to put on these or more or less what techs i should be researching to get some weapons on them?

Weapon platforms don't fit weapons. They're purely defensive structures in Adamant.

As for Fighters and Troops, you want Smaller Weapons or Troop Weapons.
