Wow! I had almost given up hope on getting more adamant upgrades! Thanks! I suppose this is about as final as it is going to be, as SEV is out?

Nah, he's been working on it for the last couple of years. I've been following the dev snapshots.

Don't know if you noticed this but in all 10 of the neutral race research files you put Illusory Armor as Illusiary Armor so the game couldn't find the files cause, obviously due to a small typo they didn't exist in the TechArea.txt file. I went in an corrected them all and they work fine. That's the only thing wrong I've personally seen.

edit: Also I'm having trouble getting research centers to load any pictures. bleh... stupid research.... if only you weren't so important. Evil or Very Mad

edit: edit: ok so now that you're sick of me I got the friggen thing to load the picture it used in v0.15 and it worked.... not sure why. I'm done editing my edits now though.

Whoops, I forgot to copy the new research file into the neutrals... Sorry. I fixed the name of the tech area (to Illusory). You can fix it by copying this file into each Neutral### (NOT MONSTERS) race folder and renaming as appropriate:

Adamant 0.16.00\Pictures\Races\AI_Research.txt

(and probably want to copy it into the Adamant 0.16.00\AI folder too)

Since all neutrals are physical races, you could get away with replacing "Illusiary" with "Illusory" too, but it might just be easier to update the files.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can try using the AI_File_Copy.bat batch script (take the Monsters folder out first so you don't destroy them with normal race AI files) to automate this. Copy the AI_Research.txt file from Races to RaceNeutral, copy the Physical_AI_DesignCreation file and rename it to just AI_DesignCreation.txt (overwriting the old one in RaceNeutral), then run the batch script to copy the AI files to all 10 neutral races. You might not really need the design creation one, but it shouldn't hurt (probably).

I'll make a patch for this later, hopefully with any other issues that arise. Smile

RE images:
Make sure to have the latest version of the Image Mod installed. If you still have issues, something funky must be going on.

Yeah I went in and changed all the Illusiary names, didn't think they were in there twice so I had to fix that twice. As far as the images go I do have the latest image pack. All of the other ones work it's just that one.

Which paradigm's research centers are you having trouble with?

Normal. I just checked the others and Energy and machine also give errors. Magical and Organic work fine however.

Hmm... that image (Pictures\Facilities\Facil_638.bmp) seems to have the wacky XP bmp header. Try resaving it as bitmap in a program like irfanview (or paint.net, or photoshop in "os/2" file mode).

Oh dear... the "Adamant FQM" file has already used up 1.6 GB of bandwidth. This month will be a tight squeeze. Please use the torrent people! Smile

Converted w/ Irfanview. Works fine now. Smile

Before that it kept giving "Stream Read Error" messages. Surprised

Also, considering the file is only 40-60mbs, that's a lot of downloads!

PBWers, swing by PBW for Adamant Machine Wars. Consider it a crash test of the Machine Race in all forms - Normal, Nomad and Pirate.

The game is actually using 0.16.00 but PBW doesn't have the support in place for it yet.

We've been waiting for this release for about two years. You really expect that we wouldn't swarm the download?

Fyron, if it helps, I won't be getting V 0.16 Smile

(ok, it's because I can't find SE4, but still...)

There is a fine line between Genius and Insanity. I am firmly on one side of that line!
