I was wondering why the Refractive Energy Barrier II was barely any better than the REB I (only 1 more shield point?) so I looked in the data files, and found that the SGFD ability isn't actually equal to the shield ability like in Carrier Battles! Isn't the description "Not depleted by weapons fire" a bit misleading, then? I mean, I suppose that the other 20 shield points are just the component's extra HP, but still... oh, and shouldn't it have 10 fewer HP/SP, since it's an energy component?
edit: also, the shield ability's "from each hit" is definitely misleading, since 20 of the shield points are just regular phased shield points! That's no space station - it's a spreadsheet! Back to top
All of the stats appear to be correct. The ability descriptions were not updated appropriately; the [%ShieldPointsGenerated] tag doesn't work well in this case because the 20 converted hull > shield points make the Phased Shield Generation and Shield Generation From Damage values out of sync. Pronably should have had something like:
* Initial solid barrier absorbs 20 phased damage.
* After initial barrier is down, absorbs up to 4 phased damage from each hit.
* 4 shield points not depleted by weapons fire.
* Recharges 1 shield point per round. Smarter than your average Texrak. Back to top
