It's obvious that Energy Races are made to shield tank rather than armour tank - but I'm curious; what's the best way to go about maximizing shield capabilities and absorbancy?
Am I better off using all small integrity fields (they give more SP/kt than medium or large) and high-end shield regenerators? So far, I've found decent ships can absorb between 1,500 and 2,000 points, and have a regeneration of 400 points a turn.
OR
Am I better off using standard shield tanking tactics, and using phased shield generators with regenerators as backup? I'm inclined to think this is more effective, as the entire shield acts as an absorbant mass, rather than an ablative one that regrows. Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top
Try to out regen them... just think about how much damage your enermy can do in one trun and put on more sheilds and the same amount of regen... your only bane should be bust when it comes to energy race ship design. normal sheild tanking will not work because your armor cant servive a hit. only use armor for bonus shields. so small armor is better then the bigger.
