This is mostly an experiment into seeing how far one can push SE4's limited economic system through bribery, backstabbing, trading and so on and so forth.
Ultimately, the goal is to score at least twice that of the player in second place. Now, given the competetive but restricted nature of gameplay in this scenario, you will have to use all your wits and assets to get what you want.
This is Monopoly...
On an Intergalactic Scale
Look for the game "Adamant Monopoly" on PBW.
The blurb is below.
Quote:
Alright, so this is just an experimental concept.
The goal here is not to annihilate your enemies, it is to outscore them. Spectacularly, no less.
Outright war is, suffice to say, frowned on in this region of space, but the many mining companies throughout this sector squabble over mineral resources, often resorting to violence or subterfuge to get their way...
Oh, and don't forget the locals, the ancient races who refuse to leave home...
And then there's the Pirates who always want a cut of the deal...
Upon signup, you should indicate your race type on the end of your Empire Name. You needn't add this onto your empire name in the game, but this is for my sake and for balancing the game. (See my own signup for an example)
Naturally, Normals have a significant advantage when it comes to outscoring the others, so Pirates and Nomads will have to work their socks off in order to keep up!
And thanks to the free flow of information, you can easily gain intelligence reports on all number of statistics about your fellow empires... but it's only reliable if you get it from planted agents... of course. (Accurate info is only available on Allied Empires, but you can check the Statistics for a rough estimate/leaderboard style setup.)
Obviously, outright war is not a viable option due to gameplay scenario, but small mercenary fleets ARE... I'm looking for more players overall, of any kind. Nomads, Pirates, Normals, Organic, Magic, Physical... any you desire! Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top
And yet you failed to read the blurb and add your empire type... or at least, the empire type you intend to play...
Also, it's Confederacy, not Confederancy.
Finally, this is primarily an economically-themed game, so don't expect to go around warmongering. That's completely against the game rules. Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top

Nomads? C'mon, am I the only non-nomad around? I was thinking of switching over to nomad anyway... maybe I should just so I don't overpower everyone as a normal! That's no space station - it's a spreadsheet! Back to top

Shipset doesn't matter. What you need to do is have a more economically themed group or faction. Adamant Monopoly is about economic victory, not military victory, and, as such, as I've said before, outright war is a no-no. Border skirmishes, intelligence operations and transport raids are fine, but full on wars are not. Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top

Well, I have the Galactic Mining Corporation, Ed has the D. Edd Sirius Shipwrights, Inc. and so on.
Basically, your empire can be themed any way you like, so you could have the Arasaka Corporation (Cyberpunk) for example.
All you need to do is put (NORMAL), (PIRATES) or (NOMADS) after your faction name. That way we can ensure some kind of balance. Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top
I would join up, this sounds damned interesting, but I'm about to get plunged right back into the deep end starting tomorrow. I've got 17 hours of classes, including at least four different classes (out of five) that have a serious potential to use me, abuse me, and spit me back out.
At that point, my ability to actually remember to hand in turns would become... erratic. Back to top
Curious, will there be AI's and can we wage outright war with them, maybe?
No, because it's specifically "banned" in the game rules. AIs would just make things stupid.

Zuikran Engineering Company, (NORMAL)
Good enough or is indepth explanation required?
No need for an indepth explanation now, you can go into that in the empire bio/society/history areas if you want.
I've been thinking about using the initials of a company for a kind of stock thing, where the numbers after are the empire's actual score, like so;
GMC; 1.0M
DSI; 1.1M
ZEC; 07M
Obviously, pirates would not be ranked unless they acted as Mercenaries. Nomads would be ranked if they worked as shipyards or mercs. Etc. Unofficial Adamant 0.16.xx Bug Hunter Back to top
